In my opinion, this is the profile style that comes closest to having it all. It is derived from the Full Taper profile style, and
retains the Full Taper's flexibility of articulation and almost all of the dynamic range. By further comparison, it has less blowing
resistance, more presence of attack (especially in conjunction with the 2mm tip extension), and the sound is more covered and less buzzy,
but still projects well. It plays well in all registers, although it isn't quite as good a high register reed as the Spine style.
It has a couple of curious features not found in other profile styles. Firstly, it seems to counteract somewhat a tendency to
make an unintended accent on a soft attack. I find this style to be markedly the best for making confident soft entries. Secondly,
it seems to lower the pitch of low D, and G and F-sharp below middle C, while at the same time making it easy to play the notes from
middle C to F above up to pitch. My theory on this is that the well (dug out part) is placed where it affects the D/G/F-sharp and
the triangle is placed where it affects the notes from middle C upward.
