When compared to the Moderate Taper, the Parallel profile style has less blowing resistance, a more responsive attack, a more muted sound, smaller dynamic range and less flexibility of articulation. Proponents would say that it has a warm pleasant sound, is very stable and has good presence of attack. Detractors would say it has a stuffy, non-projecting sound and has too narrow a range of articulation and dynamic range.
